U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that his administration is nearing a comprehensive diplomatic agreement aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East and securing a long-term peace framework involving the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Speaking from the Oval Office, President Trump stated that he just concluded a very productive call with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain to discuss the Islamic Republic of Iran and the terms of new Memorandum of Understanding focused on peace.

The President disclosed that an agreement between the United States, Iran and the other countries involved has “largely been negotiated,” adding that it is now subject to finalization.

President Trump added that he also held a separate call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which he described as positive. According to Trump, the final details of the deal are still being discussed and are expected to be announced soon. He also said the agreement would include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, along with several other key measures.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported that Tehran and Washington are close to finalizing a 14-point agreement aimed at ending tensions, stopping what Iran called American maritime aggression, and releasing Iranian assets frozen abroad.
