Kuwait said it had once again come under drone attacks, marking a fresh escalation in regional tensions, as authorities blamed Iran for the strikes and warned of their implications for the country’s security and stability.
In a statement issued on Monday, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the country’s condemnation of what it described as “heinous and repeated Iranian attacks,” calling them a dangerous escalation and a direct assault on Kuwait’s security and sovereignty.
The ministry said the alleged attacks constituted a flagrant violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026). It added that the incidents posed a serious threat to civilians and vital infrastructure across the country.
According to the statement, the continued recurrence of such attacks undermines efforts to reduce tensions and threatens regional security and stability. Kuwait emphasized its categorical rejection of what it characterized as aggressive actions against its territory.
The ministry further stated that Kuwait reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security and defend its territory. It also held Iran fully responsible for the alleged attacks, saying any response would be carried out in accordance with international law, the UN Charter, and relevant Security Council resolutions.
