U.S. President Donald J. Trump has formally rejected a new Iranian counterproposal aimed at ending the ongoing Middle East conflict, describing the terms as “totally unacceptable.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Trump’s strong reaction came after a weekend of high-level diplomatic efforts during which Iran reportedly conveyed its latest proposal through Pakistani mediators. The full contents of the Iranian proposal have not yet been made public.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian wrote on social media yesterday, “We will never bow our heads before the enemy, and if talk of dialogue or negotiation arises, it does not mean surrender or retreat. Rather, the goal is to uphold the rights of the Iranian nation and to defend national interests with resolute strength.”
