U.S. President Donald J. Trump has announced that a new agreement with Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, describing it as a major breakthrough that would prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons and lead to the reopening of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

Trump, in a Truth Social post, described the proposed agreement as “A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON”. He criticized former President Barack Obama’s JCPOA nuclear deal, calling it a pathway for Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

Trump said no U.S. funds would be transferred to Iran under the deal and that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen immediately after signing. He added that nuclear material buried deep underground would eventually be removed and destroyed. Trump expressed hope for long-term cooperation with Iran and the Middle East but warned that the U.S. retains the “ultimate alternative” if diplomacy fails.
