The State of Qatar has condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex by Israeli settlers and the raising of the Israeli flag in its courtyards, describing the incident as a flagrant violation of international law.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar said the act constituted a provocation to Muslims worldwide and a breach of the religious and historical status of the holy site in occupied East Jerusalem.

The ministry affirmed Qatar’s categorical rejection of attempts to undermine the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and stressed the need for the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities towards Jerusalem and its holy sites, as well as to firmly confront repeated Israeli violations.

It reiterated Qatar’s unwavering position on the just cause of Palestine and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their full right to practice religious rites without restrictions and to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
