In a sharp rebuke of Washington’s current diplomatic approach, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated today that any path forward must be built on the fulfillment of promises, rather than “the language of force.”

In a statement published on social media, Pezeshkian addressed the mounting tensions between the two nations. He emphasized that deep historical mistrust in Iran toward U.S. gov conduct remains, serving as a core obstacle to any potential breakthrough.

Pezeshkian asserted that “honoring commitments is the basis of meaningful dialogue,” suggesting that previous breaches of agreement by the U.S. continue to haunt current negotiations.

He criticized recent “unconstructive and contradictory signals” from American officials, describing them as carrying a “bitter message” that reveals a desire for Iran’s unconditional surrender.

Reaffirming a long-standing pillar of Iranian foreign policy, Pezeshkian declared that “Iranians do not submit to force,” signaling that Tehran will not be coerced into concessions under military or economic pressure.

As of today, Tehran has not confirmed its participation in the upcoming round of talks in Islamabad, insisting that Washington must first prove its sincerity through actions rather than contradictory signals.

With the current ceasefire set to expire on April 22, the world remains on high alert as both nations balance the prospect of renewed conflict against the fragile hope of a diplomatic breakthrough.
