UAE announces closure of its embassy in Tehran

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that it is closing its embassy in Tehran and withdrawing its ambassador and diplomatic staff from Iran following what it described as Iranian missile attacks targeting UAE territory.

In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the decision comes in response to what it called blatant missile strikes that endangered civilian areas, including residential neighborhoods, airports, ports, and other service facilities. The ministry condemned the attacks as a serious and irresponsible escalation, warning that they threaten innocent lives and regional stability.

The UAE government also said the strikes represent a clear violation of national sovereignty and international law, including the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter. Officials emphasized that the move to shut down the embassy reflects the country’s firm stance against any aggression that threatens its security and sovereignty.

Authorities further warned that continued hostile actions could undermine de-escalation efforts in the region, pushing the Middle East toward a more dangerous trajectory and potentially affecting global energy security and the stability of the international economy.
