The Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) will host an international seminar in New Delhi on December 1, bringing together affiliates of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW). The event, titled “Health and Humanitarian Crisis in the Ongoing Wars – The Way Forward,” seeks to address critical global issues and explore viable solutions.

Dr. Arun Mitra, President of IDPD, revealed that participants will include medical professionals from Australia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and various states across India. Discussions will focus on pressing topics such as the escalating risks of nuclear warfare, prospects for peace in the Middle East, the widespread impacts of ongoing conflicts, and collaborative global peace initiatives.

The seminar will conclude with a declaration calling for unified international efforts to end wars, provide humanitarian aid to those affected in Gaza and Ukraine, and safeguard healthcare workers and facilities. Participants will also advocate for immediate dialogue among conflicting parties to achieve ceasefires and long-term peace agreements, highlighting the catastrophic consequences of potential nuclear confrontations.

The gathering will further emphasize the need to end external interventions in conflict zones, underlining the importance of sustainable peacebuilding measures.
