Iran vows resistance, says surrender ‘holds no meaning’
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi accused the United States of presenting military threats as diplomacy amid ongoing tensions over Tehran’s nuclear programme.
“America says it has temporarily halted its attack on Iran to give negotiations a chance, while at the same time speaking of readiness for a massive assault at any moment,” Gharibabadi said.
He said Washington was “calling threat by the name of opportunity for peace”.
Gharibabadi added that Iran was “united and resolute” in confronting any military aggression and declared that “surrender holds no meaning” for the country.
Quoting wartime rhetoric, he said Iranians had “chosen martyrdom over surrender” and vowed resistance in the face of any renewed US military action.US Vice President JD Vance warns Iran must renounce nuclear weapons or US is ‘locked and loaded’.
Vance says the US has a “simple proposition” for Tehran: agree to never develop a nuclear weapon or risk renewed military action.
“We are locked and loaded,” Vance said during a White House briefing, while adding Washington still prefers a diplomatic deal.
