Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned U.S.-Israeli attacks on medical and research facilities in Iran, describing them as a “crime against humanity.”

In a public statement, Pezeshkian pointed to reported strikes on hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and the Pasteur Institute, questioning the intent behind targeting critical healthcare infrastructure.

“What message does attacking hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and the Pasteur Institute as a medical research center in Iran convey?” he said.

Calling on the international community to respond, the president, as a specialist physician, urged organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Doctors Without Borders and physicians worldwide to respond to this “crime against humanity”.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei also condemned the reported attack, describing it as “heartbreaking, cruel, despicable, and utterly outrageous.” He stated that the Pasteur Institute of Iran—one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious public health and research centers—had been targeted, calling the incident not only a war crime but “a barbaric assault on basic human core values.”
