Ludhiana, December 23: The Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana has appealed to residents to pay property tax for the current financial year (2024-25) by December 31, 2024, to avoid a 10 percent penalty on pending tax.

No penalty will be imposed on property tax payments made for the current financial year by December 31. However, a 10 percent penalty will apply to payments made after December 31.

Officials have informed that residents can avail of a 10 percent rebate on property tax payments made for the current financial year by September 30. No penalty is imposed on payments made between October 1 and December 31, but a 10 percent penalty will be applied to payments made between January 1 and March 31. If residents fail to pay property tax for the current financial year by March 31, the penalty will increase to 20 percent, along with an 18 percent annual interest on the outstanding amount.
