Iranian minister questioned President Trump’s “rescue” promise by sharing an image of mass graves
Thousands of mourners gathered in Minab, southern Iran, on Tuesday for the funeral of schoolgirls killed in a US-Israeli strike, Iranian media reported. The strike, which hit Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls’ Primary School on Saturday morning, reportedly claimed 165 lives including school students and staff.
Earlier, aerial image of graves being dug for the victims went viral on social media, showing the scale of the tragedy. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi shared the image on his X (twitter) account, posting: “These are graves being dug for more than 160 innocent young girls who were killed in the US-Israeli bombing of a primary school. Their bodies were torn to shreds. This is how ‘rescue’ promised by Mr. Trump looks in reality. From Gaza to Minab, innocents murdered in cold blood.”
The strike comes amid escalating US-Israel operations in Iran, which have targeted multiple cities and sites. Scenes of devastation at the school, including destroyed classrooms, blood stained bags and panicked parents, have circulated online, further fueling outrage. Iranian authorities have described the attack as a deliberate act against civilians, while international organizations have called for the protection of schools and children in conflict zones.
