Ludhiana, January 11: AAP MLA from Ludhiana West, Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, tragically passed away under mysterious circumstances on Friday night. Gogi reportedly sustained a gunshot injury while cleaning his licensed pistol, according to his family. The 58-year-old leader was rushed to DMCH, where he was declared dead. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. Gogi’s cremation was held on Saturday.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann mourned the untimely demise of the MLA, describing it as a profound personal loss and an irreparable setback for the Aam Aadmi Party. Attending the cremation, Mann paid tribute to Gogi, highlighting his dedication, hard work, and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister praised Gogi as a loyal and hardworking colleague who tirelessly served the people of his constituency. Mann also expressed his grief, stating that Gogi’s death has left a void in the party and the hearts of the people.
During the funeral, Mann laid a wreath on Gogi’s body and prayed for strength for the bereaved family to endure this loss. He also wished for eternal peace for the departed soul.
