Global Leaders Condemn Attack on Former US President
World leaders condemned an attack on former U.S. President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, where he was speaking at a campaign rally. The former president was shot in the right ear. A shooter fired multiple rounds, also causing one death.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on X (formerly Twitter) that he was horrified by the shooting and stressed that political violence is never acceptable. He expressed his thoughts for Trump and all Americans.
I’m sickened by the shooting at former President Trump. It cannot be overstated — political violence is never acceptable. My thoughts are with former President Trump, those at the event, and all Americans.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida posted on X that violence challenging democracy must be opposed, and he wished Trump a quick recovery.
We must stand firm against any form of violence that challenges democracy. I pray for former President Trump’s speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condemned the attack, calling violence unacceptable in politics and democracies. He wished Trump a speedy recovery.
